چکیده
Introduction and Aim: The routine markers of CAD show elevation after the development acute manifestations. There exists a need for establishment/validation biomarkers that predict preclinical atherosclerotic changes. This study assesses utility haematological indices in prediction prognostication CAD. Materials Methods: retrospective includes 830 patient reports investigated serum Troponin T retrieved from laboratory information system. Reports were grouped into positive negative categories. Relevant biochemical data retrieved. Statistical analysis was carried out to estimate group differences, correlation, sensitivity, specificity, AUC. Results: showed significantly elevated WBCs, neutrophils, CRP, NLR, PLR, SII with low lymphocytes, monocytes, basophils RBC count. None lipid profile parameters, except triglyceride, significant differences between groups. Males higher baseline but blunter CRP during coronary events. ROC maximum sensitivity (75.9%) NPV (77.9%) while PLR specificity (76.4%). Conclusion: Haematological may have better predictive value than conventional might serve as key novel cardiac risk screening panels aid stratification management artery diseases.

Endogenous thrombolysis: a hidden player in acute coronary syndromes?
v ( d A o u a t c a c d ( rterial thrombosis is a major cause of morbidity and ortality worldwide. Rupture or erosion of an atheroscleotic plaque stimulates platelet adhesion and aggregation nd activation of the coagulation cascade, which result in hrombus formation. The fate of an evolving thrombus is argely determined by the balance between proaggregatory nd procoagulant factors, on the one h...
متن کاملIs There a Role for Colchicine in Acute Coronary Syndromes?
I n this issue of the Journal of the American Heart Association (JAHA), Martinez et al demonstrate for the first time in man, that the crystal-induced NLRP3 inflammasome is activated within clinically stable coronary atherosclerotic plaque as evidenced by increased levels of IL-1ß and IL-18 in coronary sinus sampling, and that its expression is enhanced in the presence of unstable coronary plaq...
متن کاملPrognostic value of C-Reactive Protein in Acute Coronary Syndromes
Introduction: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is among the most common, serious, chronic and life- threatening illnesses in the world. CAD represents a spectrum of conditions, with acute myocardial infarction at one end of it and silent ischemia at the other. There is growing evidence on importance of prognosis of C- reactive protein (CPR) in unstable angina and this protein is a maker of an adve...
متن کاملCould there be exactly two things?
Many philosophers think that, necessarily, any material objects have a fusion (let’s call that doctrine “Universalism”). In this paper I point out a couple of strange consequences of Universalism and related doctrines, and suggest that they are strange enough to constitute a powerful argument against those views. By “thing” I mean material thing. We all believe that there actually are many more...
متن کاملCould There Be a Hole in Type Ia Supernovae?
In the favored progenitor scenario, Type Ia supernovae (SNe Ia) arise from a white dwarf accreting material from a non-degenerate companion star. Soon after the white dwarf explodes, the ejected supernova material engulfs the companion star; two-dimensional hydrodynamical simulations by Marietta et al. (2000) show that, in the interaction, the companion star carves out a conical hole of opening...
